Roles needed for each day

Team Lead (need 1 for each event): Will let group know where to meet and will be the point person for the day. Follow up with Kelly about how the event went. Team Lead, if you experience a weather event, you need to reschedule with your group and inform Kelly of the new date.

Note Taker (need 1-2 for canvassing days): While out with canvassers, you will keep track of any follow-up needed with voters. You will help organize canvassers by giving them the next address from the list we provide.

Canvasser (need 12+): Knock doors of new and like-minded voters to give them information on the 2026 election that we provide. We provide the script.

Phone Banker (need 6+): Call from list of new and like-minded voters that live in rural parts of the county. Mostly leaving voicemails. We provide the script. Will be at Eckhart Library, Auburn, unless otherwise noted.

Canvassers will always go out in teams. If you are comfortable with canvassing or phone banking, you may work ahead on the list independently. Please make sure to let Kelly know at contact@democratsindekalb so that we do not duplicate efforts.

UPCOMING EVENTS

We have sign-ups ready to go for both volunteering in the DeKalb Fair booth and the parade. Fair week begins with booth set-up on Sunday, September 27th. We need volunteers in the booth from Monday, September 28th through Saturday, October 3rd. We have divided them up into the same short shifts as previously done so that it is manageable for most. The parade is scheduled for Saturday, October 3rd with line-up beginning at 9am.

Executive Committee

The DeKalb County Democrats Executive Committee is formed by the County Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary. These roles are responsible for decision making that ensures what is best for the party and representative of the whole community.

Committee and Caucus Members

Do you have a specific interest or skill and want to involved locally? A committee or caucus position may be a great fit!
Committees are currently being formed and range from event planning, communications, fundraising, and more.
Caucuses are formed by groups who identify with or are allies with a specific group. Examples of caucus groups is Young Dems, Women's Caucus, and Men's Club.

Central Committee

The DeKalb County Democrats Central Committee is formed by Precinct Chairs and Precinct Vice Chairs (PCs and VPCs). These positions can be elected or appointed. PCs and VPCs are responsible for local connections in their respective neighborhood, including rural areas.
The Central Committee is also responsible for electing the Executive Committee and voting on elected office vacancies as they arise.
